School for F.M. Alexander Studies

2008-9: The School for Alexander Studies is a small specialist tertiary education provider in Melbourne, Australia. While at University, I took up casual work as the school's general assistant (Jan-08 to Jul-09). I was given a set of basic responsibilities (answering phones, invoicing, cleaning, etc) and a time period in which to complete them. Within those time constraints, I achieved:

  • Process Reform - Reduced administration requirement by 50% using both technological and organisational tools.
  • Marketing Evolution - To improve customer contact, I redeveloped marketing messages and processes. In 1 year, enrollment went from 65% of capacity to 100% of capacity.
  • Business Flexibility - Architechted processes, data, networks, software, and communication with multi-site growth, multi-staff flexibility in mind. In 2009, assisted in opening a new CBD office.

Website

As a small part of my role at the school, I implemented a website. In order to reduce costs, the website is based on a customised template and styled 'off-the-shelf' modules. Features include:

  • Significant marketing effort in developing targeted SEO combined with a carefully constructed, HCI and content-driven sales funnel.
  • Current events, blogs, photo galleries and large sections of content designed to draw repeat visits and long-term attention from prospective customers.
  • A student section with homework co-ordination, calendar, forum, blog.

The website resulted in a significant traffic increase, with longer visits and more repeat/local traffic.
